On 25 January 2018, TASCMAR participated in a Common Exploitation Booster event for EU funded projects, held at Université Paris-Saclay, France.
The Common Exploitation Booster is a European Commission endorsed initiative to help maximize the impact of EU funded projects, bringing their results and achievements from the research stages, through to commercialisation. In this case, a brokerage and pitching event was organized: four EU funded FP7/H2020 projects were invited and first attended a training session during the morning, in which project representatives were trained to present a pitch of key results in their project with a view to attracting potential investors/collaborators. The training was provided by Francesca Natali of Meta Group – a private company selected by the European Commission to provide this service. During the afternoon, the project representatives presented their pitches to an audience of relevant stakeholders and received valuable feedback. The invited stakeholders then presented their perspectives on collaborating with scientists and funding their research.
The event was organized by the EU projects CYCLON HIT and ARGENT and the invited projects were TASCMAR and NABBA, the theme of the day being medical research and innovation. TASCMAR coordinator Jamal Ouazzani presented a pitch on the newly patented TASCMAR technology UNIFERTEX – the first technology enabling larger-scale cultivation of mircroorganisms on both solid and liquid media.
